I arrived at the Baby Bank today to find a queue of people both wanting to drop off donated items and collect referrals. I think everyone was trying to fit it all in before end of term at lunchtime. So it was straight into action, carrying items to and from cars as required. Luckily, lots of other volunteers turned up too, as there were some big referrals to put together, destined for new families who had arrived in the refugee hotels. It was a busy morning, but we got it all done.

Providing essentials to families in extreme need

The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
