Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)
Laura and I met on a GoodGym mission on Friday and I managed to convince her to come along to my regular Salvation Army Nunhead weekly help out.
This week, there were no potatoes to peel or onions to chop, but instead a large contribution from Sainsbury's to sort out. However, early on, I was given the task to haul various bags of baked beans, canned soups, canned veg, canned fruits, cereals, pasta and rice amongst a few other bits and pieces.... Up 2 flights of stairs! Upstairs is where the Salvation Army Nunhead stores their food for when they need to give handouts to those in-need as well as their back up for making various weekly meals for the homeless or those families that could do with a free week once a week.
Laura stayed downstairs to sort out the various bags and sort them into categories. She throughly enjoyed herself before she had to leave for another GoodGym mission in Islington. Yet, the Salvation Army Nunhead hope to have her back 😊
