Ashley, Naomi, Pete and Rachel met to help clear up Alvaston Park and the path along the River Derwent. It was great to see the park being enjoyed by dog walkers, families and children taking part in football training.

Lots of food items were collected including a loaf of bread, hotdog and cheese slice. There was also lots of empty food packaging to pick up including lots of empty sauce containers from fast food restaurants which inspired Naomi to tell the group about the time her car was ketchupped. Award for the most unusual item of the night goes to Naomi for a well used saucepan. At a gravel beach area (Derby's hidden gem if only the sewage smell could be improved...) the group found remnants of fires with lots of foil to collect, discarded homework and colouring books and some cans of drink.

The group had a catchup about their individual plans for the Platinum Jubilee and Pete told everyone about his daughter gearing up for RideLondon-Essex, something which Pete has taken part in previously when it was based at another location.

They walked just over 2 miles and collected 5 bin bags of rubbish. Thanks to everyone for helping to clear up the path.
