Like many vulnerable members of our community, Mrs A is currently shielding. Sadly, she lost her husband in March, but was unable to see him during his last days, or attend his funeral service. Contact with family is limited, and so Mrs A spends most of her time in the company of her two Jack Russells, who were rescued by Mr and Mrs A, last September. Since lockdown, she has been unable to take the dogs out for a walk, so they, too, are in isolation. Today, I was doing a shopping trip for Mrs A...a few essentials for her...and the dogs! It was a pleasant 30 minute bike ride, across the old Runcorn Bridge, to Widnes Tesco, and a relatively clear run around the aisles. A final stop at customer services, as Mrs A was paying over the ‘phone, and I was back in the saddle...not such a quick ride back, though, as both panniers and a back pack were full to the brim. Mrs A was so pleased to have her shopping done, but more-so, to have a little chat. I think there may be a couple of four-legged friends requesting help in the near future, too.
