Fill up and face out
3 GoodGymers made their way to help the Portsmouth Foodbank in Portsmouth.

Today was the start of a weekend of GoodGym supporting the Trussell Trust and our local Portsmouth food bank. The collection weekend is carried out in Tesco stores across the country to highlight the foods urgently needed by food banks.
Three GoodGym runners joined staff and volunteers from the Portsmouth Food Bank to hand out shopping lists of vital items needed by the food bank to support those in need locally.
For those of you with retail experience you might have heard the phrase “fill up and face out” but it was new to me! Lucy couldn’t resist putting her “filling and facing” skills to good use in between greeting customers.
So many Tesco customers donated and took time to hear more about the local project and find out ways in which they could support. We even spoke to a local resident who had used the food bank in the past and felt really pleased to be in a position where they could give something back.
Catherine did a great job thanking people for their generosity, even after the security guards played a little trick on us!
As usual it was an afternoon full of smiles and laughter, and I left feeling warm and fuzzy at all the kindness shown.

Loved having such a great response from so many people to the food bank. Well done Portsmouth!
