Fine-Pruning
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Sunday, 29th of November 2015
Following two previous visits from GoodGymers, we headed to Valerie’s to do some more work in her lovely garden. It wasn’t the nicest weather, but much better than the driving rain we experienced last time Frances and Philip were in the area!
Philip got to work on pruning a pretty but over-grown red berry bush, before helping Valerie to get a wind-blown bush upright and secured to a pole. Meanwhile, Frances did some drastic cutting back on a plant that had become entangled with bindweed, and then attacked the ivy that was covering the fence.
Once we’d finished cutting and chopping, we tidied up the evidence of our handwork, leaving the berries out for the birds to enjoy. After about an hour and a half, we said our goodbyes to Valerie, managing to avoid the worst of Sunday’s weather!
