Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Char Binns
We clocked our 99th good deed of the month when 14 fabulous runners came out on a very cold evening to help at The Florrie.
On our last Group Run of the January Challenge we managed to come within a whisker of 100 good deeds. And while we're still a little way off our very ambitious target of 130, given that GoodGym Liverpool didn't exist last January and given that the highest number of good deeds we've done in a month to date is 74 (that was in July 2018 fact fans!) I feel like we've done a boss job.
I couldn't be prouder of my team - they have well and truly beaten the January blues by pulling on their GoodGym reds.
Tonight's task saw our first visit to The Florrie (aka The Florence Institute) an amazing community venue in an under-priviledged area of the city. Our task involved lifting sports gear, stage blocks, display boards, chairs and cabinets. It is the kind of task that would take their small staff team all day but that GoodGym can power through in just half an hour.
On the way back to base we took on the mighty Upper Parliament Street - perhaps one of the city's most challenge hill runs - and pushed hard to see if we can win the Strava segment. Kudos to the whole team but Sam, Chris, Pauline and Christine deserve a special mention for killing that hill.
If you still can't get enough of those good deeds, there are 3 days left of January and 2 more chances to get out and about with GoodGym Liverpool. We have Community Missions organised for Tuesday and Thursday. Let's hit 100 and then keep going!
