Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
An amazing 34 GoodGymers ran between 4-9km, cleared leaves for Cecil Sharp House and collected 20 Christmas trees for recycling.
Wow, corr, blimey that was a good one! We did lots and welcomed three new people - Tom, Shruti and Anthony.
In the news this week:
So onto last night, we had two tasks - one clearing leaves for Cecil Sharp House and the other searching for Christmas trees for recycling.
Cecil Sharp House Task by PB:
On a lovely evening 22 GoodGymers headed 1.6km to Cecil Sharp House to do some winter gardening. This is an amazing organisation that provides a space for music, events and community development in Camden. We've been coming here since June and have made a huge impact.
Leaf it out
Once arrived at the task we split into two groups, one collecting leaves and the other doing intervals.
'Leaf-ers' did the following:
Armed with a pair of gloves, recycling bags and portable lights the team got to work picking and packing leaves from all the flower beds and bushes. Over 10 bags of leaves were collected!
'Interval-ers' did the following:
First off we did some shuttle runs, running hard out and easy back. Increasing the distance each time. Next we strengthened our glutes with two balance exercises.
Both groups switched and got to put some brilliant effort into both activities. After a cracking group shot we headed back to base for a good stretch out.
Christmas Tree Task by PSB:
A splinter group of 12 went off to forage for abandoned Christmas trees in the Primrose Hill/ Swiss Cottage area.
This team led by Polly, caused great amusement to pedestrians and drivers by running along with trees on their shoulders, under their arms and over their heads to the recycling point on Eton Road.
Tree-total!
A whopping 20 trees got shifted and the troop covered between 8-9km in the process!
Thanks for coming everyone, next week we are going to help a homeless shelter and paint at Abbey Community Centre, sign up here. The page will be updated tomorrow.
PB out.
