9 Goodgymmers got involved with our weekly interval fitness session yesterday evening- 7pm, every Monday, at the Emirates Stadium. Our participants included Jacqui (GG regular, but first time at one of these sessions!), Becca (who ran a lot of our virtual interval challenges during lockdown) and Sally (who had just visited Box Hill for training that afternoon!).
After a series of dynamic warm up exercises and an easy jog around the stadium, Trainer Simon set out a course for the session. The team were required to run to 2 different points on the concourse by the Danny Fiszman Bridge, and then run hard over the bridge itself.
For example:
Run to point A and back: 50% effort Run to point B and back: 70% effort Run over Danny Fiszman Bridge and back: 80-90% effort
Repeat for 7 minutes
3 minutes rest
3 total reps for full workout.
Our crew did really well, making use of the allocated "recovery" time during the reps, and efficiently switching between paces.
We concluded our session with a few stretches, a biscuit or two and a trip to the Brewhouse in Highbury for a catch up.
