Report written by Yianny (he / him)
The number 8 is auspicious in some cultures and it was for GoodGym Lambeth last night as 8 intrepid runners turned out on the 8th of the month for Back to the Flyer Part 2. ๐
First up we welcomed Clara to our community for her first every GG run and good deed - we were delighted to meet you Clara!
As the 8th is International Women's Day we started with a couple of gender equity exercises (Who run the world?? - you had to be there) and then it was off outside for a warm up on a crisp but clear evening.
We set off for a quick 1.5kms around the local area to get us ready for our extreme flyering with several roads remaining on Andrea's hitlist of ones to target. The instructions are simple: avoid houses with barking dogs, no leaflet stickers and letter boxes that bite (hard to tell on that last one) and I'm delighted to report no digits were left behind during the course of our mission! โ
Superstar Sam was great at hunting down those hidden doorways on Acre Lane, Tilly seemingly had a never ending stream of flyers in her pockets and Charlotte took a rebuff from one resident to be given a flyer in good cheer - nicely done.
We exhausted our stock of flyers by 7:55 and had an easy 5 min jog back to base for a warm down (and 15 squats in the middle of the road to boot!).
Job done, difference made, thanks to all ๐
