Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
5 Goodgymers ran 9km KM to deliver Goodgym leaflets in the Sharrow area of Sheffield
The task
Tonight we kept the task very simple. We delivered leaflets in order to recruit more Goodgym members. We selected a group of streets that house our target demographic - awesome people. We split the streets up and got delivering.
Heart rate running
Whilst out running the chat was around heart rate running. We decided that the fitness section of our group run should be an endurance style run in the lower heart rate zones. This is always challenging in Sheffield due to the high amount of hills. We combated this by slowing right down on the hills and worked the legs rather than heart and lungs.
A lot of fitness experts recommend that 80% of your runs should be in this low HR zone. It helps develop aerobic capacity and develop supporting muscles without adding too much stress.
The group tonight ran very well and stayed together like a Tour de France peleton. Chapeau!!!
Monday 23rd Jan we are meeting at Bramall Lane for our weekly group run where we are back at Sharrow school finishing off the paint job. Sign up here
