It was a night of celebration at GoodGym Redbridge with Peter and Alice passing 50 runs and 100 runs consecutively. If that wasn’t enough the group began a project to brighten up the Wanstead High Street and ran 5km in the process.

On a mild winter’s evening, three of GoodGym’s runners met with Marion of Wanstead Community Gardeners to dig over five small flower beds in preparation for planting wild grasses and flowers next week. While the beds are shallow and of poor soil quality, wild grasses will thrive in these beds and will make Wanstead High Street a brighter, more beautiful place. With Marion needing to dash off the task was complete in 20 minutes leaving the group plenty of time for a 5km run and a lengthy stretching session.

Once the run was finished it was time for a quick drink at The George pub to celebrate Peter’s 50 and Alice’s 100 run milestone. Great work guys, you are total LEGENDS!

Next week we are back to help Marion with planting seeds in the newly turned over beds. A great first task if you are new to GoodGym. You can sign up here
