power of the mind
Fighting my way back from man flu I was glad to see the rain had stopped and the temperature rise just a little. With that in mind I tried not to get too close to and warned my fellow runners as we discussed goals and the power of the mind. Big shouts out to Senay who’s recent milestone run of ten miles has now got her wanting to run even faster.. Let’s Do This!!
around the block
We were headed back to the Friends of Tottenham Green site once again as they were in need of a freshly delivered pile of compost shifted and spread across a very long flowerbed.. as the site itself is but a stones throw from our start location we whipped round the block for a quick 2k with a little loop the loop of Clyne Circus for good measure.
The task
As usual we hit the ground running and wasted no time in getting jobs allocated and that elbow grease a greasing. The task at hand was to dig up and remove any big stones from the bed then, shift a huge pile of compost and spread in across the bed.. simples! The team did an amazing job here and managed to shift and spread the lot with a little room to maneuver too. Lots of banter was had here.. Cathy and Chris came up with the report pun too which was a bit of a coincidence as Cathy mentioned fork handles and Chris mentioned it was his sons b’day and he’d had four candles on his cake… sorted (just for Oli). Oh and Happy Birthday to the little man.
Fitness session
This week we focused on doing a light strengthening session after our run. The session was as follows.
Pedestal Routine:
Prone plank 20 sec
Lateral Plank 20 sec (left)
Supine Plank 20 sec
Lateral Plank 20 sec (right)
Myrtl Routine:
Clams x 10 each side
Lateral leg raises x 10
Donkey Kicks x 10 each side
Donkey Whips x 10 each side
Fire Hydrant x 10 each side
Knee Circles x 10 forward x 10 backwards
Hurdle Trail x 10 forward x 10 backwards
Lateral Leg Swing x 10 each side
Linear Leg Swing x 10 straight leg each side x 10 bent leg each side
