James and Linda cycled down to their old Primary School to help out with the grow your own food garden. We had been asked to help clear the garden which had been neglected during lockdown. Surveying the garden for the first time in daylight we saw the paths we had been clearing were pretty much OK so opted for clearing one of the raised beds. 15 minutes in we realised we were actually digging up vegetables which kind of goes against the brief. We left the now exposed parsnips in the hope that the dinner ladies might be able to do something with them and moved on to another bed which was more clearly weedy. Whilst clearing this bed we came across some interesting wildlife, a frog (may have been a toad), a moth and, after putting a tool down for a few minutes, three snails took up residence on the handle.

Hoping we made up for the earlier error by clearing half the second bed we called it a day.
