8 Goodgymers from both the WLS and Coventry groups took part in this year's Regency 10k race. After a frosty start our luck was in as the weather turned wonderfully sunny without a hint of wind - perfect!

Starting on Newbold Terrace East the first half took us on the leafy LS parkrun route through the trees around Newbold Comyn but in reverse. Whilst this meant a long drag up a gentle hill rather than the usual mountain that you have to climb in Parkrun, it did make for a tricky descent down the steep slope around the 5k mark.

Once we emerged from the trees back onto Newbold Terrance you could be fooled into thinking that you were nearly at the finish with the amazing support that was provided by the crowd at that stage, when really we were just over half way. It was then a winding route through Leamington's many beautiful parks including the Pump Room Gardens, Victoria Park and then back through Jephson gardens before a sprint finish along Willes road and round the corner into Mill gardens for the finish.

Big shout out to Janet who has now completed her first ever race! Something tells me it won't be her last...

Well done also to Philip who helped to marshal - all the marshals were fantastic and we're very grateful to them all for giving up their Sunday morning so that we could take part in such an enjoyable event.
