Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tom Mutton
On a very cold Mon eve one GG'er headed out to meet SUSTRANS SIMON at the Durham Ox to give some love to a miss treated part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network (NCN).
This part of the network often had a lot of litter, leaf coverage and overgrowth so despite low number we got straight to it picking litter and shoveling frozen leaves off the path.
It was freezing over whilst we were working but this actually made the leaves stick together and made it easier to shovel up the leaves and pop them over the fence into the trees to mulch down.
After a good session and the path much clearer, wider and cleaner than before we had a good chat about future tasks with Sustrans and how we can make them more varied in terms of location and types of tasks. Simon is going to put some ideas onto an Google Sheet and share with us to add our ideas and we can plan out the remaining tasks for the year.
Until next time, happy running :)
