You say ballet, we say BALLE

In Slough we pride ourselves on our multi-culturalism and todays fitness session was a way to bring the bang of the Bhangra dance into your living rooms…to show you a little part of my culture ….and the PUNjabi way of life!

And no I’m not apologiSINGH for all the bad puns today.

Can you folk dance?

Bhangra originates from the Punjab in India. It is a traditional folk dance associated with the spring harvest festival of Vaisakhi (which, can you Adam and Eve it…just happens to be today!).

No matter what your dance stance is…anyone can bhangra…it’s a fun, energetic dance full of vigorous kicks, leaps and bends of the body….a folk dance that has become mainstream…with its chicken dance, waddle and we even had some Juggy D (google him...he's quite good)..

I hope you enjoyed the session…certainly left me not knowing my right from my left...Great to see GG'ers from across the UK joining in...
