Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Kingston upon Thames runner
It was a chilly but otherwise pleasant day for our mission to help Miss E spruce up her pots...too heavy for her to carry but not too much of a challenge for 2 energetic goodgym-ers on a Sunday afternoon.
Miss E had attempted to replant her front boarders earlier in the month and this had left her regretting the attempt but she was ready and waiting for us with tools and plants for the pots and plenty of tricks for us to learn...compost, feed and 'water gel' to save on the need for running back and forth with watering cans.
Pretty soon we were stirring up a good mixture reminiscent of bake-off...a teaspoon of this, a tablespoon of that! The pots were full of daffodils and narcissi past their best and apparently due to be dried off for replanting come winter (another mission there?) so we set about rescuing them from the pots and replacing them with a selection of fuschia and pansy plants. After a quick bit of multiplication and division we worked out how many we had per pot and set about making the pots look pretty again.
Stone the crows....another top tip from Miss E...put some stones on the top of the soil to stop the cats digging up all our handiwork.
After a bit of a tidy and water the pots were looking summer ready and we were done...onwards to sum up a full weekend of missions for Kate and I with some report writing...and a warm up with some hot tea!

Cracking work, both; love an educational mission!
