Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Linda Sharman
We arrived within a few minutes of each other to help Mrs D clear her garden Ramon had run all the way from Waltham Forest, Linda had cycled over from Hainault.
Mrs D greeted us with a list of things to do which would clearly put us into “overtime” Ramon sensibly asked her what we could do which would make the most impact for her in the time allotted and she opted for grass cutting, sweeping up some glass from a recent burglary and a weeding the paving at the front of her house.
Restringing a strimner is always tricky but Ray soon sorted it out and Linda left him to the grass cutting while she set about the other little odd jobs.
By the time we had the grass cut, glass swept and the front paving weeded the 90 minutes we’re up and working in the noon day sun had taken its toll on us. Mrs D was pleased with what we had done…so pleased she offered Ramon a job…but she was disappointed that we had not been allocated more time. After a quick tidy up and fulfilling Mrs D’s cheeky request to pull a just a few more weeds up out of the garden we advised her to get back in touch for a revisit.
Companionably starting our journeys home by walking back through the park we realised Linda had forgotten the “after” photos so has added a photo of some cut grass and you’ll have to take our word for it that this is what it looked like 😆
