Gardening darlings
4 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Saturday, 7th of November 2015
Last Saturday, four Goodgymers braved the elements to run to help Mr M clear his front garden. For some, a rainy run there was rewarded by breakfast from nearby Broadway Market, before we all got stuck in. Mr M's garden was in urgent need of some TLC, with grass growing knee-high and rubbish blowing about.
We started by clearing away some old wooden boards, then attacked the grass with shears and a spade (foregoing the electric strimmer offered by Mr M in view of the less-than-favourable weather..), and a couple of hours later we had nearly cleared the area, filling over 10 rubbish bags with weeds. Saying goodbye to Mr M we headed off, soggy but satisfied, to a well-deserved shower and cup of tea.
