This evening, we had Goodgymmers from all corners of London come together to help the Friends of Thornhill Square Gardens for some pleasant gardening tasks.

Sam and John grabbed a wheelbarrow, and started shoveling newly delivered mulch for the planting beds (Congratulations for hitting 50 good deeds, Sam! Smashing those delivery trips during lockdown). Sophie and Dom picked up some clippers and started to chop away at some overgrown rosemary bushes (which smelt amazing!). Patrick did a great job of weeding and tidying up some planting beds around the main pathway to the park.

Within an hour, it was amazing to see such a transformation. Although the space has been well looked after by the local residents, Goodgym succeeded in readlly fixing up the spot!

Keep your eyes peeled on the community missions list for next week- we will be back again soon!

'A quiet oasis off Caledonian Road. Plenty of space (it is the largest square in Islington) to picnic, rest, read, admire the flowers shrubs and trees, and walk a dog. Volunteers, with the council are working to encourage healthy activities, including walking and yoga, and also to improve the diversity of wildlife in the park.'
