Geraniums, Rosemary and a Robin (Sunday morning cocktail)
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Sunday, 23rd of July 2017
Myself And Mridula arrived at Mrs C's, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) stood boldly in front her door the spot she has occupied for 30 years (jaw dropped after being told the herb is almost as old as me). Mrs C greeted us and gave us a full briefing of what she wanted us to do. Secateurs in hand we began cutting back the Geraniums as instructed. As we cut back the first few plants we noticed, the mini beasts (thanks to KS2 home learning) beneath the Geraniums dashing about looking for new homes as their current abode was being demolished by these two giants. Despite the chaos being caused by myself and Mridula there were two very happy clients, Mrs C and a baby robin who came to enjoy the fruits of our labour as it hopped about eating worms and other creepy crawlies.
Before we knew it time had flown by and it was time for us to leave. We bagged the brambles as requested and put the rest of the Geraniums on a trash heap in the corner (for bugs and eventually decomposed) Mrs C thanked us for the work we had done and off we went.
Mission accomplished. Conroy Mission 1 ticked.
