Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Eva Sharpe
Six London GoodGymers helped St Joseph's Hospice by clearing away after their quarterly jumble sale.
The jumble sale helps the hospice raise thousands of pounds which they use to support people in Hackney with serious illnesses, all for free. What a good cause.
Those in the know, got to the jumble early to snap up some great bargains. Summer dresses seemed to be the success of the day with three GoodGymers bolstering their summer wardrobes.
The jumble sale is the biggest any of us had seen, spread across six rooms on three floors. Clearing everything away afterwards usual takes the staff all afternoon and into the evening, so they really appreciate a few extra pairs of Goodgym hands.
The six GoodGymers helped by shifting mountains of CDs, DVDs, books and bags of clothes down in the lift to the basement, where they are stored away until the next jumble. Using massive blue wheely bins to transport all the bags and boxes , the group had all the jumble packed away in under two hours.
And of course no jumble would be complete without the post-jumble photo. The bric-a-brac was absent from the basement, but the group still managed to find a random assortment of jumble goods for the obligatory team photo.
The next jumble will be 14 July so save the date!
