On a glorious sunny day in Birmingham it was great to see John and Balal at Edgbaston Reservoir to help with the first test event for the new parkrun. Balal showed his support then had to dash off to help run another running session.

We had a quick introduction and then the volunteer's were sent to marshall certain points along the route. Following that, the runners were introduced to the new course and shortly after were sent off. The first runners came back after the first lap and set off on the second under the blistering morning sun.

At the end of the race the runners and volunteers let the core team know how they found the course and any recommendations, all of which were greatly received! Huge shout out to John for getting a sub-21 minute 5km run in his first 'race' for a good few months!

We can't wait to get Park Run up and running at the reservoir!
