Report written by Ben Foster
On a lovely Tuesday evening, Kirsty and Ben ran to help out at the SPARC allotment plot. The past few visits have involved a lot of heavy weeding and lopping of brambles but this week, with the area cleared and rubble mostly removed, we were put to task to measure up weed suppressant layers for the raised beds to be built soon.
James from SPARC had a layout and map in mind and we quickly measured up double layers of the material to lay the groundwork for where the raised beds would be located. Hopefully next time we visit, they will be constructed and we can help lay wood chip in between the beds to give the area a welcoming feel!
It was a long run for both Goodgymers and a good contribution to Kirsty's goal of 100 km in a month!
