Shooing the chickens

We started the session warming up along the cycle path with some "embarrassing" dynamic stretches (sorry Sarah).

Then headed the 1.5km route to Maystar Estate. Once there we met Pauline the treasurer for the community committee who told us what needed doing where.

First off, Pauline had us remove some massive fallen tree branches from a communal flower bed. It was all hands on deck for this job. After a bit of ChuckleVision reenactment, the gang got the branches out of the garden, through the gate and down the alleyway to the bins. Where Jason and Johnny managed to break the branches down into a lovely small neat pile. Very impressive work chaps!

This wasn't the first time we've been along to help put at Maystar Estates. Tonight, we were revisiting two gardens we'd helped clear up in the summer. One older lady with very limited mobility needed her roses cutting back this time and the plants watered. And the other older lady needed our help chopping back a big palm tree.

Corkin’ good night*

(sorry Johnny your pun was used last time) *

Whilst all this had been happening, another bunch of wonderful gg'ers popped up some more cork tiles in the community hall and swept the balcony of leaves.

After a final group shot we headed back - past the hospital and then via the river.

Great to have newbies Serena, Claire and Jo and GG tourist Gosia along with us tonight.
