I Googled some skateboarding lingo in order to appear cool in this report. For any ams (amateurs - people new to skating) or posers (someone who pretends to be a skateboarder when they’re not) out there, I’ve put some definitions in brackets.
Four dope GoodGym runners rocked up to help Living Under One Sun prepare for another lit afternoon of family events. We met pro-skater, Rey, who gave us the gnarly task of setting up an obstacle course with some jumps, a grind rail, and a quarter-pipe to safely teach local aspiring skateboarders some rad new tricks! Move over Tony Hawk!
Once everything was set up, we took a few freeze-frames (photos) and Leyla rewarded us with the famous LUOS oranges just as kids were showing up with their ‘rents (parents) to enjoy the day.
Obviously, we COULD have done some serious tricks such as a nose grind (a grind on the front truck, with the tail pointing up and back), an Ollie (smacking the tail of the board against the ground with your back foot, while your front foot pulls the board up into the air), or even a Japan (a mute grab, tweaked frontside 9090 - this means absolutely nothing to me!), but we resisted the urge...
Luckily, no one bailed (fell down) or ended the task with a hipper (a large, painful bruise on the hip), so we pulled a quick one-eighty and headed back home.
