On a sunny Sunday morning, the gardening dream team of Charlie, Clo and Lisa converged on a home in need of our super skills. With a combined total of 12.5 miles completed on our morning runs, we arrived warmed up and ready to get stuck in. Mrs M was a bit disappointed when she opened the door - apparently she had been promised two ladies and a young man! She had been looking forward to a visit from a handsome young fellow, and had cleared the stairwell, ready to chase the unsuspecting male GoodGymmer upstairs. Nevertheless, she welcomed us in and led us out to the back where our task awaited us. Clo attacked some invading brambles with gusto, Charlie waged war on the bindweed and Lisa took on the various weeds growing up through the paving stones. While clearing the abundance of weeds, we quickly uncovered a menagerie of garden statues including a skunk, porky the pig, and of course a gnome, as well as some more lively wildlife in the form of of a furry caterpillar and a shed full of spiders. Mrs M kept us going with tea and biscuits, and soon the garden was clear and tidy, and the green bin satisfyingly full. Although she didn't get the Romeo she had hoped for, Mrs M was reunited with her garden gnome which may have gone some way as consolation, and she was delighted with the appearance of her garden. She sent us on our way with juicy pears to fuel our runs home, and we headed off into the sunshine, happy with a job well done. Mission accomplished!
