Light Evenings are Back!
How nice it was not have to turn on the torches!! Yesterday evening we headed to Millbrook RSPCA. Joined by the dogs Bodhi and Indy we were greeted by Kate who on site to show us to our task. With Covid hitting some of the members we had a smaller team this evening.
Before we got started, I was very happy to be reunited with the goat I rescued on a road who I then handed over to the RSPCA to help her find a new home. She now has a new friend who traveled all the way from Scotland to be with her and to make her happy. Our task for this evening was to tackled the brambles down the outer side of the dog compound. With myself and Kate needing to get out for jog after a day at work we both set off for a loop around the horse fields with Indy and Bodhi leading the way. While we got stuck in the mud as we didn't realise how muddy it would be, Wayne and Liviu got the tools out and started attacking the brambles. Kate and I could not avoid the mud and came back with trainers covered and dogs stinking!
We managed to clear a lot of the brambles down the side and left in piles ready for the site team to clear away the next morning. Bodhi helping dropping the tennis ball at everyone's feet where possible.
Next week we will be back in Woking Park to finish off spreading the woodchip for the parkrun.
