What a beautiful evening for a run and 15 of us took advantage of that on the 9km route to help at Horsenden Farm!
We were joined by new member Ugne last night who came her first GoodGym outting. Go and give her a cheer!
Chicken Run
The run last night was one of our longer (and more undulating) routes but that still didn’t make us chicken out! We set off promptly using the first mile uphill as a warm up before swooping down towards Pitshanger Park and through the lovely back route of the golf course. It was then just the small bump over the A40 before we arrived at the tranquility of Horsenden Farm.
The lovely Lynda was there to meet us with a great set of tasks to get stuck into. We had a scrap heap challenge to sort and clear, invasive Alkanet to pull out and a hole to get digging!
Splitting into teams, everyone was in great spirits surrounded by animals and nature feeling a far cry from the busy London lives lots of us lead! Unfortunately the goats are no longer at the farm (of which we will speak no more of!) but they did have some lovely pigs in their place. We also had some friendly chickens to say hello to!
With a jam packed evening of tasks the time flew by and we set our sights on tackling those hills for the return journey before heading to the pub for our monthly social.
We finished up by giving Jesse a massive congratulations on his upcoming wedding next week. Have the most amazing day!
GoodGym Ealing meets every Tuesday but we also do lots of extra weekend tasks, -just click here to check out what’s coming up next!
