Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lewisham runner
After only slight confusion between the Mission’s location and its namesake over the road for half the workforce, 4 intrepid GoodGymers finally converged at Manor Park having collectively graced Hilly Fields, Catford and Dulwich Parkruns.
"Some Light Bulb Moments"
Vic, Sarah and Rachel took on responsibilities for the bluebells, planting bulbs alongside the park wall and latterly down by the river. The attention to positioning and separation was matched only by the poise when posing for photos!
"Thank You Very Mulch"
Working alongside other volunteers, Oli helped to dig around the Park’s impressive collection of fruit trees (including apple, pear, peach and cherry), laying wood chip to help guard against encroaching weeds, plus retain moisture.
"Daff a Minute"
Rachel joined others in accepting the challenge of a seeminly never-ending bag of Daffodil bulbs, ensuring some major new colour come next Spring!
"Super Seeded"
It was all hands to the riverside (site of previous GoodGym tasking) as bluebell planting was complimented with clearing away nettles and other undergrowth, prior to the careful scattering and ever-so-delicate treading in of wildflower seeds.
"Buns and… Bluebells"
With works complete, there was just time to enjoy a well-earned bun, and to lament the lack of any rose planting which would have enabled legitimate use of Vic’s trademark pun!

Top report Oli! Well done all of you, you were so lucky with the weather, those bulbs got a good watering later!

You forgot me and my daff planting! I also did some bluebells by the stream! That was hard work with all that tough soil!
