Our very own qualified run leader
This evening our very own Barbara led the first half of the evening with a brisk walk to the task. Thank you Babs! There was a very special welcome to El and Stéphane who joined us for the first time tonight. It was a great delight to have you both in the group and we hope to see more of you in the coming weeks. 😀
Our task tonight was at the seafront Anchor Gardens which was in much need of a tidy up together with a litter pick along Windsor Lawns.
Gillybeanhad made an early start at the task with some pruning . Paul continued and, in true Paul style, achieved alot in a short space of time.
Anneteamed up with Stefan to transfer a bag of garden debris into blue bags for disposal. The huge bag had been hanging around for quite a while and was a bit of an eyesore in the garden especially as it was in direct eye line to pedestrians. Barbara got stuck into pulling up the dead wood and shrubs with both Anne and Stefan pitching in too.
Paul , Ryan and Sarah went off onto Windsor Lawns for an extremely productive litter pick. Since starting litter picks back in 2017 Sarah definitely takes the prize for the most risqué item found and certainly the catalyst for tonights headline pun which Barbara came up with ! 😱😅
On the subject of litter picking El discovered how addictive it can be and made great progress working with precision and smiles ☺️ Great job! 👌
After storm Bert we were blessed with a lovely calm evening which meant we had plenty of opportunity to chat and get to know each other without having to concentrate on staying upright!
There are several opportunities to volunteer in December so please do take a moment to scroll through the website and sign up where you can.
Hope to see lots of you this weekend at the Care for Veterans Fayre which we will help them set down followed by a social drink at The Brew House afterwards.
Have a great week !
Julia ☺️ xx
