Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
We tackled another soil filling task in the park on this run.
Outside looked unusually dark as the ominous looking grey clouds that we are getting used to seeing hovering above us closed in. Weather man Nish made a pretty accurate reading and predicted we'd be fine and within an hour the clouds would have moved to make way for some sun.
We ran off in the direction of stratford international station smiling at the prospect of round 2 in the beach after. The conversation was flowing, Andreana was jumping and climbing and we were still dry.
Greeted by Ruth on arrival to the site we got to work shovelling dirt, transporting loads in the wheelbarrows and filling it in the planters. Armed with a slightly different group of 7 some new filling tactics were adopted and for the record they worked wonders. We were flowing at full speed; double rainbows were spotted and dirt was kept out of our eyes.
After 45mins the bar had been set and more planters had been filled than on our previous visits. In high spirits we pulled our best yoga poses for a group pic before heading off for a interval session around the park. Back stretches were in order post run as one of the guys felt a few twinges. As we lay on a patch of grass twisting from side to side we looked up at the now deeper grey sky which had flashed a seriously strong lightning bolt at us just moments before....But still we were dry!
As we made our way back towards the aquatics centre a few of us opted for that game of beach volleyball, 10mins in we had a few sprinkles of rain but nothing was stopping us, accept maybe our inability to keep the ball in play.
Great as always guys, join us on the next one. We'll be heading to Durning Hall community centre.
