On a super chilly evening in East London, three of Goodgym's hardiest runners met to do good and run 8km in the process.

With barely-above-zero temperatures keeping all but the hardiest runners indoors, the skeleton crew of Peter, Kristian and James met at Wanstead House Community Association to help clear leaves, pick up rubbish and generally make the house a nicer place for those who visit.

In a change for the usual process, the team decided to do the run before the task, as a way to get warm in the bitter conditions. This meant a run up around Eagle Pond, round some of the forst area and then two smaller loops just to keep things interesting - and to keep themselves warm.

With the group toasty and ready to do good, team Redbridge collected shovels, brooms and buckets ready to move the never ending leaf fall that collects in the car park and gardens.

With the task done in a flash there was just enough time for some easy stretching - to make sure that speedy 8km didn't turn into aches and pains.

Fancy getting involved? Then join us next week as we do more good in the local area!
