Tonight our 5 fabulous members came and got stuck in at the Mavor Court project which we've worked on before. Mavor Court is a housing complex for local residents. The local Guinness housing officer, Kenny, has worked tirelessly to improve the area and we've been fortunate to be involved on several occasions. The work that's been done there has really transformed the area and the residents are delighted with the outcome (many of the residents got stuck in and helped).

As part of the complex, there's an unadopted alleyway that runs alongside the complex. Tonight, it was our job to help clear it from all the litter and weeds that have accumulated over time. On initial inspection, it didn't look like there was much work - but it was actually deceptive. There was more than we actually realised!! We got stuck in with our litter pickers, our spades, our shovels and our brooms.

We worked for an hour and a half and got the alley looking really smart again. It was a really lovely evening - the weather was kind to us and the conversation and company was as fabulous as ever. Sometimes after a hard day at work, all you need is a small dose of Goodgym fun, feel-good, fitness and friendship to lift your spirits.

Hope to be back again soon Kenny - and we promise not to overfill the rubbish bags next time...... although it was a good workout for our muscles ;-)
