24 stair climbs, 17 Double-Back Dills, a 7k run, 2 hills, and a giant team clean-up of 1 dirty dining hall. Just your typical Monday evening for GoodGym Brent.

Well climate change was in full swing in Brent last night, changing up from last week's frost-bite, this fair Monday eve, it was all about the roast, too many layers and stripping mid run to hold off the heat. Despite the crazy weather flip, the GoodGymers of Brent flew through wonderful Willesden for an evening of Do-Gooding once more.

After a hearty housekeeping and a welcome back of our 2 new recruits, fresh from Thursday's escapades - Melissa and Murt, the rest of our gallant group, galloped their way through the streets of Willesden in order to tackle the task of the night.

This week, we were back at Ashford Place homeless shelter one last time for Jan, to finish the list we couldn't manage on taster Thursday; which included one gigantic clean-up job of the communal dining area.

If you don't know by now, our old friends - Ashford Place are a community resource centre, in the heart of Crickelwood, Brent, providing advice and practical support on a wide range of issues including; homelessness, training, employment and health. They support and facilitate positive change for individuals through the provision of a range of programmes including; housing, health, training and employment. At the same time they develop services that build capacity and enhance the lives of the local community. In our opinion a fantastic partner and very worthy cause for GoodGym support.

Stretches done we head inside, led by Alan our task-master for the night. Down and down we went 5 flights of stairs to the dining room and where we were met with a series of Hellish kitchen nightmares!! But with our trusty crew of sweepers, moppers, wipers, shifters, movers and shakers, we went for Hell for Leather and set to work like Demons.

To everyones (guilty) pleasure the soundtrack of the night was Justin Bieber and you'd better Belieber we were singing along while we worked!!

After a back-breaking and terrific team effort, the room was left sparking like new - Heavenly. Delighted with our hard work there was only one way to celebrate - With a stairway to heaven of course!!!**

For most it was once up the 5 flight, stairway to heaven, but for 2 it was 3 - runs that is. Dan and Ross showing us who's Boss and getting some series calf burnage for their efforts.

After the last run we said our farewells and head back out into the night. With 30mins to spare we took the longer route back to base-camp, with Dan stepping up his leadership skills and forging ahead with those wanted to push their legs to the absolute max. With double backs and tempos, the gang were more than pooped as we turned the last corner for home........ But wait, we still have 5 mins to spare!!! Only one thing for it... HILLLSSSSS A gallant last effort from all of the team, left us wobbly legged and gasping for air, but never happier at the same time!

One last thing before we leave a HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sing song for our beloved Clairey-Bell and a promise from all to bring cakes next week for our last official session at Willesden Sports Centre. Yes you heard right, we send our farewells for the time-being and move out to our new venue of - The Queensbury pub and restaurant on Walm Lane (Pritesh will be so please - yes a pub!!). An exciting start to Jan, but not before we run one last Track Session, that's next week.

A stupendous squad, a terrific task and another awesome night Do-Gooding in Brent.

Until next time.

DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPRE.
