Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Carol Carney
The good people at Mencap were looking for some extra support with food donations leading up to the festive season and it looks like we managed to get a good selection of food and treats together! Hurray! ✌️7 goodgymmers made the effort of cycling, running and driving to Mencap to drop off donations this morning.
The first drop off was from Emma who cycled with a backpack of goods! Then Jenny arrived in her mini and was dressed in festive matching attire with a mini red santa hat and red jacket (to hide the fact she has a 100 deed tshirt by mistake perhaps) 😂 Tom arrived at a similar time by foot and we had a good catch up. Katie ran 3 miles with a bag of treats in the freezing cold and it was uphill battle both ways! Impressive stuff!! The smiley Damu (aka Adam) arrived by bike to drop off some chocolates and other treats and luckily touch wood there was no puncture this time round!
Thanks to everyone's very generous donations we ended up having more than one hamper could handle and had another shopping bag worth of food! Bernie at Mencap was so thankful and pleased with all the donation and took some photos to publish in mencap leaflet for next month. These hampers will be going out to vulnerable families over the next few weeks alongside donations from Zarach charity. The aim is to have 14 days of food for each family over the festive time!
Thanks so much to all again!!
