Grass Attack
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.

Back to Ms P's (my second visit) to tackle her back lawn this time. The grass was very overgrown with long clumps and fairly damp so our task was quite difficult! We were given a borrowed battery-powered strimmer to use, but it only lasted about 10 minutes. I concentrated on strimming the corner of the lawn near the pots (which Ms P can see from her lounge windows) so that at least that bit looked neater. Angela got to work with the shears, attacking the longer clumps and raking up the cuttings. With the strimmer out of action, we swapped over and Angela did some raking while I attacked the longer bits of grass with the shears. We made the grass look a lot tidier, especially the bit where Ms P will be able to see from the house. After emptying the last lot of grass cuttings into the green bin (almost filling it up) we called it a day. There's a lot more to do but maybe we need a more robust strimmer and a good lawnmower to get it finished off!
