Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Kash
Mrs R's husband awaited Sevan and Kash with four cardboard boxes out and a Flymo mower plugged in and ready to go.
"It looks like a quick job" - Kash said confidently.
Sevan wasn't so sure - and rightly so. Flymo didn't want to simply fly through the task. The hover mower needed double passes through the same strip of the long grass to cut it. It also worked better with a doubled number of GoodGymers as pushing this seemingly manoeuvrable machine was no joke! The device was not so keen on swallowing all the cut grass that came from underneath it, so the volunteers decided to split the effort and have one person raking the grass.
The task finished just under the official 90-minute threshold - all the grass was cut down. Mrs R and her husband will now have access to their swing seat in the garden.
The most difficult part was writing the report as I was typing it with my eyes closed for most of the allocated creative time.
Fun fact 1: Mrs R's husband didn't want us to trim any hedges - he waited for them to grow even thicker to block the noise from the road.
Fun fact 2: Mrs R and her husband had a piece of fake bindweed filling a gap in their hedge - yet, they had plenty of real bindweed hidden in the grass.
