This week 14 GoodGym-ers ran (approximately) 1km to help TWO local charities before heading to Chicken Town to celebrate the end of the year.

We were joined by GG newbie Joe - Give him a cheer! And GG tourist Stephen, who showed up rocking the best Christmas jumper I've seen so far.

Things were off to a shaky start for me, as I got caught up in some unexpected traffic. Luckily, Sarah and Dave are GG heroes and got the ball rolling with the safety briefing and the warm up, before splitting into teams for task one: retrieving signs for the Tottenham Ploughman event in various spots nearby. This task fit nicely in the running segment of the evening.

Everyone then made their way over to Tottenham Green to meet Laura and collect the tools for turning the soil. I met them all on the green. We split into teams to transport soil, rake leaves, turn it all into the ground and litter pick.

As always, the team made quick work of the task. Pennie kept an eye out the time calling out "rakers, you have five minutes remaining" and within 30 minutes we'd completed an entire section ready for bulbing.

We then worked through a quick abs circuit, to a familiar chorus of groans, powering through some plank jacks, star fish, toe taps and all sorts. Stephen tells me it's harder than anything they've ever done in Lewisham. I'll be sure to let Adele know that.

It was soon time to collect our things and head back to the tools shed to put them away. Quick tidy, few squats and a final sprint – all before stretches and celebrations.

Merry Christmas, folks! Have a good break. See you on the 3rd.
