Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
The park was looking lovely in the spring sunshine, and being well-used by people of all ages. However, the litter was cramping its style a bit… So Cathy and Hannah set to work on picking litter, and after a valiant two-hour effort, had smartened the place up no end. They paid particular attention to an area that Floyde, who has been taking care of the park for many years, has special plans for.
Meanwhile, Becky and Emily start clearing weeds from a bed of daffodils across the park. Graham arrived a while later, having been held up after the rack was stolen from his bike and he had to cycle from south London with a replacement fixed on DIY style. Between the three of them, they saw the weeds off, never to return. If only…
"We had a few people walk by and speak with us about what we were doing.. we got a couple of thank yous too" - Becky
"The people in the park were so friendly. The thank yous made it all the more wort while" - Emily
As always, GoodGym tasks provide solid chatting time. Cathy and Hannah managed to work out they have a mutual connection, whilst Becky, Graham and Emily comprehensively evaluated the merits and drawbacks of London life. They also resolved the question of what those little silver things are (laughing gas canisters, not some bicycle part/accessory!).
After the mission was over a few of us hung around for some sprint work with Haringey trainer Varon. We got stuck into some Yasso 800s and sprint intervals. Good stuff!
