Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
There were smiles all round tonight at Goodgym Bexley. Yay!! we had day light for our first task of spring. With this natural boost of energy we headed up towards Welling so we could loop back round to the Danson Centre. It was great to Janine finally back who has been away volunteering in Sri Lanka. Well done girlie.......... This evenings run was a nice steady pace which kept us together as one group which also leads to great conversation. No one is ever left behing on our group runs. On arrival at the centre we were greeted by Ben and the jobs at hand that needed doing. First was clearing up rock salt from the path ways, and the second was to carry on clearing the moss etc from the edges of the astro turf. This is an on going project for us and its coming along nicely. Splitting into two groups we started smashing the tasks. The best thing about doing tasks at Danson Centre is that we get to use the astro turf for our fitness sessions, and tonight was no exception. First up was cone chaser, then moving onto cone shuffles, finishing off with connect 3 and plenty of laughs.
FINISHING OFF WITH CONNECT 3 AND PLENTY OF LAUGHS
With the smiles still on faces it was time to pack up the equipment and move all the garden sacks to the front of the centre before saying our good byes. It was then a lovely short run back to base camp Crooklog for our cool down and group chat. Well done to Neil for completing the Colchester Half marathon yesterday. You are a Bexley Goodgym inspiration and a much appreciated member. Keep up the awesome running.
Well thats it. What a lovely run and task. So glad the evenings are now going to be lighter. We have some great tasks coming up through the summer so keep an eye on our run listings. Until next week Goodgymers. Tim
