Great to see no-one got cold feet about coming!

Four frozen runners ran the streets of Barnsley delivering leaflets on behalf of local charity H.O.P.E in the Community
We met as usual at the warm and cosy Glasshouse on Gateway Plaza, with it's roaring fires and cosy chairs, it was definitely a struggle to get up and get out into the cold, BUT we did it!.
Armed with 600 charity leaflets, advertising free community cooking classes and children's groups, we headed out into the night. In order to stay warm, I had designed the route to include extra loops in between the posting! We got to work quickly, opening gates, folding leaflets and fiddling with letter boxes - there's quite a work out involved with posting into letter boxes, bending down to the low one and back up to higher ones! We managed to deliver all the leaflets with running loops in between, delivering to approx 150 houses each and clocking up 5.8km!
Everyone was keen to move on to good deed two of the evening and get back for dinner, so we didn't hang around, super speedy task tonight! Well done all!
January has been a tough month to stay motivated and we've spent many a cold, dark night together here at GG Barnsley! Let's give a special cheer to Mairead and Sharon for making it to every run and task in January!!!
