Today we welcomed Thandiwe back with us, her last group run was before the pandemic, however she's been keeping tabs on us via our weekly emails.

Today we headed to a new tasks helping the Friends of Hailing Grove, reclaim an area of the park from ivy. When we arrived Claudie and her team of volunteers had already started.

We were taken to an area of the park that had a battle with some ivy, which the they wanted to be cleared. Armed with a few forks and a ton bag we started weeding until the bag was filled we emptied it filled it again three more times before it was time to down our tools.

Claudie gave us a walking tour showing us all the work they had done and some lovely blooms.

Just as we were about to bid our farewell we spotted an heron in the walled garden.
