Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by James Poole
On a crisp Autumn evening, five of Goodgym Redbridge's most dedicated runners met to raise awareness of a litter picking event and ran 6km in the process.
Over the last 16 months, Goodgym Redbridge has been involved in a number of local community initiatives. Sadly, not all are on a Monday evening but where we can, we like to get involved. This week's task was to raise awareness of a litter picking event being organise by Dan Slipper on Saturday 4 November which aims to make Wanstead a rubbish free zone.
With the legend that is Peter collecting the flyers from Dan, it was down to the team to distribute them in some of the streets local to George Green. Being the motivated team that GG Redbridge is, the task was done in 30 minutes flat which meant plenty of time to log the run and get fit on our regular winter loop through Snaresbrook.
All that was left was for resident physio Ellie to lead the cool down and stretches back at base. Another great task that will hopefull see Dan inundated with help this Saturday.
Moving on to next week. GG Redbridge desperately needs help for a task in Ilford. The Ilford Foodbank has been inundated with food from harvest festivals and it needs to be sorted before being store. This is one of our favourite tasks but needs many hands to get it done. You can sign up for it by clicking here.
