As part of #GGSuperSaturday, we completed a load of mini tasks on the Sustrans Cycleway
We met the local ranger, Fiona, who had a selection of colours of hammerite. We divided up into four teams with each team given a separate painting task.
Maddy and Vicky were to wire brush and paint a directional finger post in blue.
Hayden and Angela were on green and didn't want to do anything too arty or complex so they were on bollard painting.
Max, Helen and Leanne were on another blue finger post which was about 800m further along the path.
Finally, Ellie, Ben and myself were on mile marker detailing. A few weeks ago we'd base painted a mile marker black, and now it was all about adding some colour to catch the attention of passing cyclists.
Sam had gotten completely lost but managed to find us and joined in with the bollards.
The mile marker took some time and there was even some colour mixing to create a lovely lime green and attempt a purple too.
Tried to make purple. It's brown.
Turns out brown was a good colour for the ammonite detailing anyway.
All tasks were finished, leaving the cycle path awash with colour as well as the signposts being much more visible!
