Report written by Tim Dickson
Cold, wet and drizzle is how the weather greeted us tonight as we celebrated our 2 Birthday with an awesome leaflet drop for the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice. A little light on numbers this evening so it was great to see the gang from Bexley Mancap arrive to help as usual. You guys are awesome. After a quick warm up we headed up out towards Welling and into the back streets before starting to hit the letter boxes. We split into two teams and worked each side of the road. When one team finished they crossed over and helped the other. Theres nothing but team work with our crew, and no one is ever left behind.
THERES NOTHING BUT TEAM WORK WITH OUR CREW
We were only half way through our run/ walk when the rain started to make an appearance. But hey, theres no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong equipment, (right) so we just soldiered on. Having completed a big loop and all leaflets despatched it was time to head back to basecamp Crooklog. I think the knowledge of knowing that there was cake waiting lifted everyones spirits as even the walkers started to run (lol)
Arriving back at Crooklog we made a bee line in through the doors and down to where the big comfy chairs were. Well we deserved them ;-) It was now time to relax and reflect on the last couple of years over a couple of cupcakes. Well not in Matts case, as he was quite willing to finish them off telling everyone that he had worked harder than everyone else. Well thats comment is another story for another day.
Happy Birthday Bexley Goodgym, heres to many more...........
