Tuesday 3rd December 2019
Report written by Huw Davies
December is here and our tasks took an immediate turn for the Christmassy! We welcomed Beth, Carolyn, Jo and Ross along for their first GoodGym good deed. We hope you all enjoyed it and we'd love you to join us again soon!
After a delightful run through the festive looking city centre we arrived and managed to get into the building without Huw setting the burglar alarm off - progress indeed! Tonight we were tasked with acting as Santa's Elves. Letting ourselves into the building under darkness we found a stack of unwrapped presents for the children on the St Matthew's Estate donated by Creative Triangle, the company Beth, Carolyn and Jo work for - double good deeding from them! The team quickly got themselves organised into mini wrapping squads and super efficiently had all the pressies wrapped quicksmart! Simon from St Matthew's Big Local had left us a treat too and we tucked into a mince pie and a cheeky chocolate before disappearing into the night having stacked all the pressies next to the tree.
We headed down to the multi-use games area track and everyone got stuck into a 30-20-10 drill with great endeavour. Cracking effort folks!
Continuing the theme we ran back for another Christmassy photo opportunity before retiring to the pub to mark Dave and Mel's recent birthdays.
As winter tasks go, they don't get much better than that. Doing good, getting fit, staying warm, eating food! Everyone's a winner!
Happy running, HD
