Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

4 GoodGymers… 2 areas… 1 mission!
On another hot summer’s day, though mercifully not the 34 degrees from the day before, 4 GoodGymers returned to Seniors day centre, the site of some many memorable missions over the years. Alice was there to meet, greet & brief us, plus to divvy up tools for the works to come with no shortage of equipment to go around from the well-stocked Seniors shed.
Path to Glory
The first area of work was the footpath down the side of the centre, leading to the familiar garden area behind. Jacqueline and Julian went to work cutting back the overgrowing hedge and encroaching foliage to ease access for all.
Pot & Bothered
Meanwhile, in the small courtyard behind the conservatory, Felicity and Oli’s task was to tackle the weeds which had taken root around (and in many cases deep within) the surrounding wall. This involved a lot of shuffling around of tables, chairs and plant pots, in what is quite a congested little area, before full access could be gained to all nooks.
Heaps of Fun
With nature well tamed, there was just time to add our contributions to the compost heap and to conduct a combined sweep-up of both areas, before taking a moment to admire the impressive plant growth (and fluttering butterflies) in the Seniors poly-tunnel, following previous GoodGym efforts preparing its raised beds.
