Ten runners met up in Tottenham, ran 4k to clean some railings at a playground, and had a planking competition.

While we were gathering at the leisure centre, the repeated call was "Where's Varon?" Dashing Dave had taken over for this week while our regular Trainer headed off for Carnival. Hurry back now!

We went through a series of dynamic stretches to warm us up. Walking in circles, jogging in circles, twirling our arms like helicopters, speed penguin walking, and apple picking. Not thematically tied together, but needed as it was a chilly night.

On the run out, the faster group split off to do a Fartlek lap of the the Downhills Park War Memorial. They were each allowed to yell once, at which point the whole group had to sprint, flat out, for three seconds. They blasted round there in no time, caught up with the tail runners, and headed off again.

Over at KORI, Chris gathered the supplies for the task (and came up with the run report title) and we set to work on clearing more paint off those tired looking railings. Amongst the chatter there was talk about where to pick up a bargain headtorch in the end of season sales, and possible upcoming 10k races. A couple of youngsters scooted up and asked what we were up to. I thrust some flyers at them. Hope to see them next week.

On the way back we stopped off for a few reverse dips, and another in our occasional Haringey planking competition. Everyone held those cores strong, impressive showing by our new joiners Rupert and Felicity!

  • 01:15 Ben
  • 01:18 Ollie
  • 01:18 Antonia
  • 01:19 Tamara
  • 01:34 Cara
  • 01:50 Chris
  • 02:15 Felicity
  • 02:37 Sarah
  • 03:19 Rupert

At this point Ollie peeled off early (hope you managed to fit in those stretches), while the rest of headed back to base for a cool down. Sarah introduced some interesting variations into the stretching. And at the last minute we got in a round of Haringey High Fives (nearly missed them!)

Hope to see you next week, when Varon's back, and a few of are heading for a bite to eat after the run.
